JNPA - Traffic Dept. Performance Report for the month of Jan-2024 & FY 2023-24
The total traffic handled at JNPA during the month of Jan-2024 is 6.72 million tonnes, which is 11.28% lower as against 7.58 million tons in Jan-2023. This month’s traffic includes 6.07 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.65 million tonnes of Bulk Cargo as against 6.90 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.68 million tonnes of bulk traffic in the corresponding month of last year respectively.
In terms of container traffic, 515,919 TEUs were handled at JNPA during the month of Jan-2024, which is 3.21% lower as against of 533,012 TEUs handled in Jan-2023. Out of this, 148,007 TEUs at BMCT (-16.54%), 140,809 TEUs at APMT (-8.01%), 91,904 TEUs at NSIGT (-7.58%), 79,130 TEUs at NSICT (-23.31%), 55,976 TEUs at NSFT and 93 TEUs at NSDT were handled. (%age shown in bracket above is variation over same month in previous year). Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal (NSFT) and Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal (NSDT) have started operations from 14th Feb-2023 & 26th May 2023 respectively.
The total traffic handled at JNPA during the period from April-2023 to Jan-2024, is 70.64 million tonnes, which is 2.71% higher as against 68.77 million tonnes during corresponding period in previous financial year. This includes 64.24 million tonnes of container traffic and 6.39 million tonnes of Bulk Cargo as against 62.40 million tonnes of container traffic and 6.38 million tonnes of bulk traffic in the corresponding period of last year respectively.
In terms of container traffic, 5,271,170 TEUs were handled at JNPA during the Apr-2023 to Jan-2024 which is 5.75% higher as against 4,984,776 TEUs handled during corresponding period in previous financial year. Out of this, 1,702,249 TEUs were handled at BMCT (+24.20%), 1,249,321 TEUs at APMT (-21.43%), 940,552 TEUs at NSICT (+7.39%), 919,600 TEUs at NSIGT (-2.41%), 455,447 TEUs at NSFT and 4,001 TEUs at NSDT. During Jan-2024, JNPA handled 542 container rakes and 84,704 TEUs as compared to 554 rakes and 89,526 TEUs in Jan -2023.
During April-2023 to Jan-2024, JNPA handled 5,338 container rakes and 851,105 TEUs as compared to 5,461 rakes and 854,348 TEUs during corresponding period in previous financial year.
Highlights of FY 2023-2024:
- JNPA handled 70.64 million Tonnes of total cargo & 5,271,170 TEUs of containers from Apr-2023 to Jan-2024 which is higher by 2.71% & 5.75% respectively as compared to the corresponding period in the previous financial year.
